2025 will mark the FIFTEENTH annual Kalamazoo Hot Dog Walk, an event supporting local businesses and Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes. The pandemic caused a pivot to a safe, voucher format which served the mission successfully, therefore this year will see multiple options:
• First, we again return to the live event which involves participants riding buses to seven restaurants in one afternoon on May 2
3: Schultz’s Treat Street, Coney Island, Nagle’s Top Dog & Malt Shoppe, Papa’s Italian Sausage, Ray Ray’s Italian Beef & Sausage, The Root Beer Stand and Coney Island.
• Second, retaining the “virtual” option, registrants receive a packet containing vouchers good for one hot dog at each partner restaurant, redeemable throughout the year.
• Third, the bold may opt for both with the hybrid option: Combo Meal
All registrants will receive one commemorative t-shirt and proceeds benefit Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes. How it all began: In 2011 three friends, Kevin King, Scott Swope, and Chris Voss, decided to eat a hot dog at as many restaurants as possible in one day. Seeing this unfold on social media, more friends asked to join and the event was born. In 2015 the “DogFathers” partnered with Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes and have since helped to provide over 100,000 meals to the Kalamazoo community.
