What an incredible day at Bronco Bash!

We loved meeting so many WMU students, welcoming new Broncos to Kalamazoo, and sharing a little taste of Ayasofya with the campus community. 🇹🇷🥙

🍕 Ayasofya, their restaurant, sits in the old Bruno's Pizza space – a spot generations of WMU students knew and loved.

😋 Join us in the kitchen as she cooked their signature dish: gobit doner. The Turkish sandwich is filled with shaved meat, fries, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo and fresh-baked flatbread.

🍰 Red velvet cake from Turkey. Halil insists that it’s nothing like the red velvet cake typically found here in the U.S. Their imported cakes have a hint of coconut flavor that actually comes from cacao.

The couple behind this Turkish restaurant in Kalamazoo talk about the weight of representing a cultural cuisine to a city that's still learning it, one gobit doner at a time.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Pop Culture Trivia Night! It was an evening full of laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of unforgettable moments. Seeing so many teams putting their pop culture knowledge to the test made the night even more fun.
