Carbon Chaos 2.0

Wyatt has been working for decades with shaper Kim Purington. This latest performance shortboard is exactly where that relationship has landed them. The carbon-infused poly Chaos 2.0 is the board of choice for speed, maneuverability, and responsiveness. He’s ridden it out at Pipeline and Big Bowls during WSL events, as well as many of the Windward side beach breaks like the one pictured here.

Come to the shop to take a look at the Carbon Chaos. Yesterday, there were two in the racks, but a lucky customer walked out with one of them. One remains to be observed and custom orders are always being accepted.

Big Bowl

Mahalo Wyatt for proudly sporting our circle with arrow pointing up. This was a hard fought 2.4 from Heat 1 today. Air drop at the Big Bowl into some nice turns. That last snap into the lip should’ve been a kick out, but the contest jersey makes you ride it until the very end. Wyatt got held inside for a while over that shallow section, and then upon making it back out to the takeoff zone, a 8ft Hawaiian set closed out the channel. With 30 seconds remaining he did get his higher score by dropping in and riding a clean barrel. But not enough to advance. Memories were made and experiences were had. The medic team rinse and cleaned his reef cuts on his feet. Until the next event…

WSL WQS Bowls Contest

Wyatt and his trusted Carbon Chaos by Kim Purington. First Heat of the day, 8am start. Wishing our team rider the best of luck as Bowls, actually Big Bowls, is firing with south swell.

Carbon-infused Poly construction. Chaos model with thumbtail. The preferred board for Wyatt whether digging in bottom turns, going off the top, or pulling into barrels.

Kawainui

“Kawai Nui (Great Freshwater) Marsh. Kawai Nui Marsh is the largest wetland remaining in the Hawaiian Islands. It covers nearly 830 acres in the Kailua ahupua’a.
Approximately 3,000 - 5,000 years ago, the marsh was a large lagoon that extended approximately a mile inland from the present shoreline. As the hillsides around the lagoon gradually eroded, sediments filled much of the lagoon to form Kawai Nui Marsh. Hawaiians converted the area to a large inland fishpond, once known as Kawai Nui Loko.”

Kailua is known for its beaches. It’s offshore islands. Its variety of ocean activities. However, a large part of Kailua is this protected wetland, Kawainui Marsh. And seen in this video by Christian Mosher we see the beautiful Ko’olau mountains in the distance as well as Olomana and its three peaks.
