Maui Fresh Streatery gourmet food truck strives to bring freshly prepared meals made from locally sourced, harvested, and caught products. Our goal is to not only serve lunch, but to become a fixture in the community through active involvement in the school garden programs, sporting events, and corporate venues. We aim to support our local economy by keeping our $$ here on Maui and hope to influence our diners by showing them the benefits of eating healthy and local.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers on the passing of my dad. I wish I could thank each one of you individually. Our family was blown away by the love and incredible memories people shared, especially former students and co-workers at Pukalani Elementary School where he served as the their first principal. A funny story from growing up…I actually went to Kula Elementary where my mom was a librarian. Whenever I got in to trouble, I was threatened to be sent to school with my dad! Sitting in bed unable to sleep, trying to find the words for probably the hardest post I’ve ever had to make. Yesterday we lost my dad Osamu “Oscar” Kawakami at the age of 91 when he went peacefully in his sleep. What do you say about someone you’ve know literally your entire life? All I can think of is thank you. Thank you for being the figure in my life that taught me to be a man able to care and provide for his own family. Thank you for being by mom’s side for almost 60 years as a loving husband . Thank you for being the grandpa every father wants for his kids (at times I thought he loved them more than me). We didn’t always see eye to eye but I hope you knew I appreciated all you did for me and my family. Love you Dad…you’ll always be Vader and me Luke! Incredible turnout for our Hawaiian food plate, helping us donate $4k to Britney and her Haku Maui team in their efforts to rebuild and bring beautiful lei back to our island.
