We asking for a little laulima and patience during our Mountain View soft opening, just like with any new business finding its rhythm.

The love and turnout so far have been unreal, and our MV team is improving every single day because of your support. We make all our poke fresh every morning in small batches, so especially during peak hours, certain items may sell out. We understand it can be disappointing, but we also don’t want to make huge batches and compromise the freshness or fish quality just to keep everything stocked all day.

And one huge blessing for NorCal, da Toshio Toguchi is flying down with his ʻohana to make fresh paʻiʻai for you all. Fresh fish and fresh poi on the same day. Brah, we stay fricken stoked!

Me and my wife personally making large pans of fresh sashimi-grade poke for you all, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. First come, first served.

Brah… Ryan Pagat took our house from termite and hurricane damaged to looking like it supposed to be in Portlock or Kahala 😂 One Iron Man kine house now haha.

Almost 7 years in business and brah, we still cannot believe how far this little poke shack has come.

Plenty ups and downs, and honestly, it’s still challenging every day. Before, it was just me and my wife trying to figure out how to survive the day to days. Now I find myself in a completely different position, trying to learn how to lead and grow something we never imagined getting this far.

Whenever it gets overwhelming, I bring myself back to why we started.

I just wanted to be happy doing something I loved and have more time with my family. There were years I barely saw them because I was so focused on work. So when we started expanding, finding the right people for our original Kahuku shack meant everything to us.

Then we met Matt and Maria, the proud owners of MAD Fruits.

We quickly saw how much pride they take in their craft, but what meant even more was the kind of people they are. Just real, down to earth, good people. Ry’s started as a husband and wife team, and our original shack needed that same kind of love to keep its heart intact.

Seeing Matt and Maria there, with their kids running around, brings back all da feels. It reminds me of when this was just us trying to build a little life together.

They kept the shack true to what it always was, while slowly adding their own touch. One of the newest is our walk-around poke nachos using Big Island wonton chip bags. Perfect for cruising Kahuku Sugar Mill, supporting all the small local businesses and enjoying the area.

At the end of the day, this was never only about growing one business. We just wanted to build something that felt happy, felt real and felt like home.

Gerald was actually our 3rd hire ever, and brah we threw him straight into the fire 😂

He joined us for our Huntington Beach grand opening, our first ever expansion outside Hawaii. When I asked online for help, Gerald Gerald Boyer reached out, and once I heard his story I knew we needed this braddah.

He’s an experienced chef and business owner who actually owned and operated a North Shore food truck way back in da days. Eventually he moved to Cali, joined Ry’s, and the rest is history.

Gerald has been with us through plenty growing pains, hard days and some really good ones too. As we grow, I’m grateful to have somebody who witnessed so much of the journey and can celebrate the wins or just talk story when things get rough.

And brah… Gerald can COOK.

Smoked meats and local Hawaii kine food is his specialty, especially kalua pig.

Now he’s bringing one of his North Shore classics to Ry’s Poke Market in Lomita.

Hope you guys show this braddah plenty love. I’m just grateful our paths crossed and he decided to share a little piece of his North Shore roots with all of you in Cali.

Never thought our small business, starting from one little shack in Kahuku on da North Shore of Oahu, would grow to this point. Still kinda unreal for us.

But as of TODAY, Ry’s Poke Shack is officially in NORCAL!

We starting our soft openings from now leading up to our GRAND OPENING SEPT 25TH!

And we planning one awesome grand opening so save da date. If we stay lucky, da poi boi himself Toshio Toguchi is trying for fly over all da way from Oahu to NorCal and pound FRESH POI right there for you guys!

No matter how far we go, we always like bring a piece of Hawaii with us. Supporting local, working with other Hawaii businesses, sharing their products and bringing our people along whenever we can. That’s always been da Ry’s Poke Shack way.

We just feel super blessed to even have this opportunity and grateful for everybody who helped one little poke shack from Kahuku make it all da way to NorCal.

Going Hawaii just got a little easier for everyone in da Lomita/Torrance area 🤙🏽

One thing we really proud of is our Lomita team actually get real roots back home. Our manager Gerald Boyer is one North Shore legend himself. He was actually one of the early North Shore food truck owners on Oahu, way before we even started Ry’s Poke Shack in Kahuku.

And now we finally bringing more of what we do back home to Lomita.

Our Tsunami Poke Nachos now come with fresh fried wontons, plus we bringing in more real local products made by real local people and businesses straight outta Hawaii. Just got a stock to lomita from Hawaii’s very best hot sauce Hawaiian Hot T’s Hot Sauce

We not trying bring you one “slice of Hawaii” or make Hawaii into some theme lol. We just being who we are and bringing what we actually eat, make and support back home to our little shop in Lomita.

And pretty soon I finally can share more about us winning Best Poke in Hawaii for 2026 🥹 Still kinda unreal to even say that, and we just super grateful we get to carry that with us to California.
