Meet some of the four-legged heroes of Southeast Alaska. 🐾
We were incredibly honored to have a few of the younger SEADOGS K9 Search & Rescue members join us aboard Wings for some important flight familiarization.
Thank you, SEADOGS, for everything you do for Juneau and Alaska. We’re always happy to have this particular group of passengers aboard. 🐕✈️❤️
If you’re visiting Juneau, you may never realize that behind the scenes is an extraordinary team of volunteer handlers and highly trained search dogs who can be called into action at any hour to help locate lost and missing people throughout Southeast Alaska and beyond.
In Alaska, a search may involve mountains, wilderness, water—and transportation by boat, helicopter or small aircraft. Giving these young dogs an opportunity to become comfortable flying before the day they’re needed is one small way the aviation community can support their training.
We’re so proud to share a community with organizations like SEADOGS—and even prouder when our Otters can play a tiny supporting role in the work they do.
And to our guests: this is one of those pieces of Alaska hope you never see on a vacation—but it’s a pretty wonderful part of the place you’re visiting.
