If you’ve dined with us over the years, you’ve more than likely seen a glimpse of Rachel Carrillo Barril on the line, at her fermentation station in the Lupo test kitchen, or directing the flow of food traffic at the pass.

Being a part of the local Filipino community in Alaska that her parents and grandparents were before her, has been one way of staying deeply connected to her culture and to the land so much of her family found themselves; one so drastically different from where they came.

Known for the vast amounts of majestic glaciers and untamed wilderness, what many don’t know is that Alaska has the largest concentration of Filipinos of any state. It has been shaped in part by its large Filipino community - many stories we’ve rarely gotten a chance to hear about. We’re so glad Rachel gets to share some of hers!

Experience Rachel’s perspective firsthand, as she represents Alaska weaving the Filipino story in Alaska through food. Join us with your pamilya and kaibigans in LAS BEGAS for this special occasion.
