Many of you may already know that Matterhorn Village is in the process of changing hands. As the new owners, we’re excited to introduce ourselves, Michelle and Adam Mauss, along with our two boys, Calen and Spencer.
Some of you may have noticed the recent construction as we begin to make our mark on this wonderful village that Mark and Gwen created, a place for fun and memories in Joseph at Wallowa Lake. We know the changes may have sparked some concern, but we want to reassure everyone: everything you know and love about Matterhorn Village will remain the same.
Guests will still be able to enjoy mini golf, shopping, and, of course, Tillamook ice cream!
As part of our updates, we’ve removed a few unhealthy trees and trimmed others to keep the area safe and beautiful. We’ve also repurposed materials from those trees to build a new fence along the road, allowing for more convenient diagonal parking on both sides. Some of the old fencing has been reused to expand seating so guests can relax and enjoy the newly expanded Scoops menu.
In addition to the front seating area, we’ve added a new patio behind the building where you can eat while watching friends and family on the mini golf course. There will also be an additional pickup window on the patio for convenience.
While we haven’t added new animals this year, we did hang the tram car and added another one for guests to sit. Perfect for relaxing or snapping a fun Facebook or Instagram photo.
