Cafe Arielle at the Stabin Museum Cafe Arielle at the Stabin Museum is in a 19th Century Stone Factory with an underground stream

Cafe Arielle at the Stabin Museum is a destination venue housing a 4000 sq ft art gallery, performance and event space featuring jazz, an outdoor patio, and restaurant with an underground stream. The Washington Post described the building as, "Beautifully rebuilt and completely contemporary, it feels urban enough to be in New York or London." Housed in an old Wireworks Factory and Silk Mill, the space features an extensive art gallery, restaurant facilities and stunning outdoor space. The circa 1800's renovated stone wireworks factory is a prime example of Creative Reuse such as dining tables constructed of the old cutting tables from its industrial past as a silk mill.

A Piece of Mauch Chunk History at Café Arielle

Did you know the bar inside Café Arielle has some deep local roots?
When we first bought the bar, it didn't look like much, it was covered in a pink Formica top and about 20 layers of brown paint. But underneath all that, we uncovered the original woodwork from Mauch Chunk's past.

Check out this vintage photo of the bar back in its original home, alongside a newspaper clipping about the disastrous $175,000 fire that destroyed the old Weysser Brewery / Pancheri Beverage Company on Broadway.

While the brewery is long gone, we restored the original bar and gave it a new life inside the Stabin Museum.
Next time you're in for dinner or a drink, grab a seat at the counter, you're sitting right at a piece of Jim Thorpe history.
