Last week, Amma and I were in London to speak on a panel about Bangladeshi food at banglahouse.sxsw SXSW London! There were belly laughs, tears, bear hugs, and such a palpable joy in the room! It was truly special to be in a space where nearly everyone was invested in celebrating, preserving, and sharing Bangladeshi food and culture, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Thank you to Amreen Bashir Ali BBPower&Inspiration Hello Wapping for thinking of Korai Kitchen and to Rez Ismail Hossain Arfatul Islam for the delightful conversation. And a special thank you to my big sis Nure Farzana Rahman who made the day extra special!

Last week, Amma had the absolute honor of being recognized by during AAPI Heritage Month for her decades of contributions to our Jersey City community. After the ceremony, Amma said it felt surreal because she had spent her whole life attending award ceremonies for me and my siblings, but this time it was her on stage and us watching from the audience.🥹 Amma, we know Insh’Allah you’re just getting started. We are so proud of our fearless leader, our chef, our Amma. 💙
Thank you to Councilwoman Singh and for hosting such a special ceremony, and thank you to our dear for introducing Amma—what a wonderful surprise! 🤗
