It is with profound sadness that we announce The Kitchen Step has closed its doors, marking the end of an incredible chapter that began in 2016.
This restaurant has always been a true passion project for Joe, Chef Ryan, and myself. In those early years especially, we poured in so much of our time, energy, and soul. It’s been the honor of our lives to see Kitchen Step grow into a place where neighbors, families, and friends came together. In an industry where most restaurants don’t make it past their second year, a decade is something we are deeply proud of. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure new lease terms that work for the business. As Kenny Rogers once said, “You gotta know when to hold ’em, and know when to fold ’em.”
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our patrons, our dedicated team, and the Van Vorst Park community for your unwavering support. That said, this isn’t a goodbye forever, just a pause. We are actively exploring a new location and have other exciting news on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with you soon.
