Our Italian Heritage & Culture Month recognition continues with Natale Rescigno, and this one is about food, family, business and keeping traditions alive.

Natale came to America from Italy with his parents in 1988. His father was a chef, eventually becoming head chef at Da Vinci Restaurant in Hoboken. Natale worked alongside him, learned the kitchen and eventually followed in his footsteps.

In 2010, Natale opened Salumeria Ercolano in Jersey City. If you know the place, you know it is more than somewhere to grab something to eat. Natale built the kind of neighborhood spot where people sit down, have an espresso, talk, eat and eventually become regulars and friends.

That is an Italian American tradition all by itself. The table is where people come together.

Natale has also made giving back to Jersey City part of how he does business, supporting local organizations, community efforts and causes over the years. Today, he continues operating Salumeria Ercolano at Miss America while keeping the recipes, food and traditions he learned from his father alive.

From Italy, to Hoboken, to building his own business in Jersey City. That is a Hudson County Italian American story worth recognizing. 🇮🇹
