Our Story

Ramiro's Cantina is a family-owned restaurant with two locations: one - on historic Frankfort Ave. in St. Matthews, KY and another one right across the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, IN. Although you might agree that our concept of a family-owned authentic Mexican restaurant is not exactly unique, we have come to learn that we are loved for treating our customers as family, as beloved and very special family members. You see, not only do we pride ourselves on serving quality dishes prepared from the highest quality ingredients from local dependable and reliable suppliers, such as US Foods, Gordon Foods and Los Compadres, but we also treat our employees well. And you’d have to agree that happy employees create happy atmosphere, which you all have come to love and enjoy!

An interesting fact to know is that our name, Ramiro’s Cantina, was recommended by one of our customers who was also involved in creation of our logo. And Ramiro’s mother, Tina Escajeda, is our Chef!
