Two ways you can save time at Walgreens right now:

1. Go inside and use the window in the pharmacy dedicated to our customers. You can give them all your information, including insurance information and what medications you need at this time. They may tell you that you're out of refills and need to contact your doctor to send a new Rx. If you have difficulty doing that, call Matthewson Drug and we will help you.

2. Use their app. There is a place you can submit a picture of your bottle showing your prescription number and your name. Be sure to give your name, date of birth, and insurance information (or a photo of your insurance card).

We sincerely apologize for this mess. Once you are registered there and have received a prescription the first time, it will be easier and go faster in the future. It's a huge transition at this time.

Congress is responsible for giving all control of healthcare to the PBMs and insurance companies. You can thank them for the mess we are in.

To our customers whose prescriptions are now at Walgreens:

Transition is difficult. With time, this will get easier and faster for you, the customer, and for our team that moved to Walgreens in order to take care of you. They care, and the staff of Walgreens cares. It's just extremely busy at the moment. The line in the store is long, the drive-thru line is long, and the wait times on the phones are long. We apologize and sincerely ask for your patience.

Walgreens has a great APP. It can save you a lot of time. Give it a try.

If you don't have insurance, or if a medication isn't covered on your insurance plan, you may have used our in-store discount program at Matthewson Drug and City Drug. While Walgreens and other stores no longer offer that program, Walgreens does have a great savings tool. Visit Walgreens.rxsense.com to find valuable coupons that will save you

Walgreens Rx Savings Finder can help you find prescription discount cards that can help you find the lowest price on a medication at Walgreens. Lowest price means the price available when you purchase a medication without using insurance coverage. Simply search for your medication and show the card....

Any medications not picked up by Tuesday at noon will be returned to stock and transferred with our files to Walgreens at the corner of Highways 59 & 80. Some important information:
1. Marrisha and Beckie will be going to work at Walgreens in order to take care our City Drug family.
2. Walgreens offers FREE delivery using FedEX.
3. Walgreens has been respectful and generous to our employees. They want to make this a smooth transition for us and our customers. They are not the enemy. The enemy is the PBM (your prescription drug plan) and our government that has allowed insurance companies to take complete control of healthcare in our country. If you want to make a difference. Stand up to them.

We are deeply saddened, but unfortunately this is necessary at this time. 😢

Our phones are still down here at City Drug! We are able to fill prescriptions. You can go to www.citydrug.us and request refills online, or come to the store and let us know what you need.
