Alright guys… today marks 2 years since we ran our very first route.🍦🚚💖 And honestly, I realized I’ve never actually introduced us. So I think now is a great time to do that — especially because it also helps answer some questions about the recent elephant in the truck… why there haven’t been as many routes so far this year?
I’m Daphne, married to Kevin who works at Rusty Drewing Auto Glass, and we have one daughter, Reese, who is 17. We also have a small circus at home in St. Martin’s with 2 cats and 3 dogs. 🐶🐱😂 I went to school in Eugene, which is one reason the rural routes will always be some of my favorites to run. There’s just something special about them to me. 🥰
Truthfully, Daphne’s Delights came about because of my health. I needed something I could do within my limitations because my office job with the state was no longer working for me. I suffer from autoimmune disorders and chronic pain daily, but I’ve realized that sometimes the best medicine for me is making other people happy — because it makes me happy too.
That’s when I realized I truly wanted to own and operate an ice cream truck for our community while also supporting local schools and charitable organizations through donations and give-backs whenever possible. 💖 The mostly seasonal aspect of the truck works really well for me, since colder months tend to bring even more health issues and flares. But unfortunately, there are also times when I physically just can’t operate the truck… and recently, that’s happened more often than I’d like. One of the biggest outside factors I can’t control is the weather/storms — and we all know what this spring has been like. 🙄🫠
I’m not really sure what else to say other than thank you. These last 2 years with the ice cream truck have truly been my dream job, and it’s all because of the support from you guys. I can never thank you enough for supporting us and my crazy ice cream dream. 🍦✨
Every excited squeal, screech, scream, happy face, jump in the air, fist pump, and little happy dance helps give me the power to keep going each day in the truck. So from the bottom of my heart… thank you for loving Daphne’s Delights as much as I do. 💖
