Hello Coachs Cuts Family and Friends.

This is a tough conversation to have but we’ve been friends a long time and you’ve accepted us into your daily lives until the fire occurred February 25, 2023.

Since that night, the status of our shop has remained optimistic and hopeful. The insurance process has taken a lengthy amount of time and has finally come to a tumultuous toll at the end. The truth of the matter is we were grossly under insured. I truthfully never thought we would experience a fire and I had what I felt that if something ever did happen, it would allow us to be back open in a short amount of time. Definitely not the case when we are staring at a year in a few days after experiencing the fire.

I get a lot of accolades about Coachs Cuts. What I will tell you is what I tell everyone, “that we had the absolute best staff and even better customers that became family”!

It is with a heavy heart that I share this realization but knowing we’ve had a great relationship all these years, I’d rather be transparent with you than to have you hear it from someone with half truths, spin and innuendo.

After much prayerful consideration and evaluating the amount of debt we still have on the shop after the insurance claim payment- our shop will not be reopening. We have shed many tears over this decision and it was not decided until we realized to start over would be monumental in terms of funds, equipment and staffing. In today’s current times- all of these are nearly impossible for us to achieve.

We cannot express our sincere appreciation for every customer that graced our shop and became a family member over our 8 years in business. This is not the end that we imagined for our shop but we are blessed to have our memories of serving you the best food we could offer in Jasper. We will cherish the times we were able to spend with each of you.

Good morning Friends and Family. I wanted to bring everyone an update on the shop. We are continuing to work with insurance on the process of our claim. The shop was a total loss so this process will take time. We have been looking at some new locations and obtaining buildout cost associated with these spots. It will take time for this entire process to be complete and to know where we need to be. We have no current timetable for our return but know that we are doing everything to make sure it is as quick as it can be. We miss seeing each of your smiling faces and serving you the best food in Jasper. Be patient and stay tuned for more updates as we have news to share. Good afternoon Friends and Family. It has been awhile since I have posted. Navigating through the insurance process and recovery from the fire has been stressful. The process is lengthy but will be worth it when we can reopen and start seeing all of our family again. One issue that has developed is our landlord has determined that we cannot lease the space moving forward that we had before for 8 years. I have been seeking out a new spot to rent/ lease for our shop. I have exhausted the search so I am needing help. If you know of a spot that is available, please let us know. Thank you in advance.

Still in shock. Trying to navigate the next steps to move forward and start the process of rebuilding. Our shop was always a Christian-filled, fun-loving safe haven for all friends and family that joined us for meals. We always took pride in our food and friends. Devastated and Gut Wrenching- I wanted to share how she looks now……and a way that you can help if moved to do so.

Friends and Family- I have struggled with the fact that my daughters felt compelled to start the GoFund Me campaign to assist with the financial hardship that the shop fire will cause. I have always persevered through the toughest times with just God giving direction. I prayed and realize that God gave me my daughters and has allowed me to be humbled during this time by their concern and love for our shop. I would be okay for a month or two given the balance in my account and then I would severely struggle. If you feel led to assist financially- thank you. If you feel led to pray for us that Gods peace continues to guide our actions- thank you. If you just post a thinking about you- thank you. I am grateful for any act displayed during this devastating situation. A promise I make to each of you is that we may be down but we are far from out! God isn’t through with me or this shop so Coach’s Cuts Hoagies will be back. I love you all. God bless.

Friends and Family- we experienced a devastating loss last night. Our shop had a fire that resulted in extensive damage throughout the building. My sincere appreciation to the men and women of Jasper Fire and Pickens Fire for the aggressive fire attack to keep the fire from spreading any further than our shop. The main area of fire was confined to the back kitchen/ prep area with extensive smoke damage throughout the rest of the shop. It appears that the main fire may have started around the area of our ice machine. We have insurance on the business and our agent- Marty Callahan was on site last night to assist me with starting the claims process. Please keep our entire Coach’s Cuts family in your prayers. This is gut wrenching and my heart is breaking but we will persevere bigger and better. It will just take time. Much love to our community in advance for your thoughts and prayers.

It is Fabulous Friday Friends and Family. Yesterday marked the official day of being open 8 years- since February 23, 2015. Watch for the specials coming each day next week on our social media pages! Friends and Family- please bring your patience with you today due to staffing issues. Instead of closing- we will be serving you with two staff. Please don’t get short or angry with them today- they chose to stay open for you- our customers. Call-in orders and DoorDash won’t be taken today until 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone that comes into the shop today. God Bless.
