Dear Jamestown,
We never imagined we’d be writing something like this. It is with grieving hearts we have to announce that April 11th will be our last day open at 116 E Main Street.
Four years ago we prayed for God to give us an opportunity and He did. We took a giant leap of faith and opened a coffee shop and eatery. Today we are at a similar crossroads—we can’t stay but we’re not sure where to go. So like in 2022, we are praying for God to open doors and lead us to a new home.
Kindred was and always has been an investment in our community. That’s why we named it Kindred. We wanted to create a space where people felt known, loved, cared for and connected. A place for people to belong and find restoration.
Over the past 3 almost 4 years together we’ve celebrated baby showers and new life, mourned losses, prayed for healing and guidance through hardships, hosted wedding parties, bridal showers, and much more. Together we’ve supported clean water projects abroad and foster care and adoption ministries here at home. We’ve supported missionaries, sponsored local football and baseball teams, gathered tons of supplies and food for hurricane victims, helped restock a flooded children’s library, and helped local student entrepreneurs launch their venture… all of this and much more, together. That’s what community is all about. That’s why we did this. Thank you Jamestown and the entire community for coming alongside us and making all this happen.
It was never just about the coffee and avocado toast for us. However, since we opened, we’ve dished up over 17,000 lattes, 7,000 muffins, 3,000 breakfast wraps and 2,500 avocado toasts… 🎉
In turn you have showered us with love and generosity. We can’t begin to list all the moments you all have brought us immense joy… loving on our team and showering them with gifts, praying with us, encouraging us during the hard times, and just showing up. We’ll never forget all of this.
We have so much to be grateful for. God has blessed us beyond what we deserve. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to steward this space for the past 3+ years and for Will, Keith, and Ryan for being unbelievably generous partners. And, thank you to all of our fellow business owners for partnering with us and supporting us.
As we wind down our time at 116 E Main Street, we ask that you join us in celebrating the past 3 almost 4 years. Come share some memories and a coffee with us. Grab a muffin and let’s chat. You can pray for us as we pray over what the next chapter looks like. Either way, please come celebrate all that the Lord has done and will do. We love y’all.
Thank you Jamestown! ♥️
