This little building holds so much of Gavyn's life, so many memories. From him "helping" with construction before opening (sweeping), bringing menu's to guests after I sat them, sitting in the kitchen doing a Lego set while I worked, having breakfast with his father sometimes while I worked (he actually could eat almost all of the oat pancakes), celebrating with friends and family, conversations with customers that would help shape his gift of being a good listener, to becoming a very strong part of our team this summer, conscientious of our reservations and making a plan to prepare for them (often in his section), to conversations in the car ride home about the day's experiences and if our sales were up to par, to driving us to work (eventually the plan was to drive himself later this year).

We have decided to open this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, to do what we do - nourish our community - and to feel his presence...and your love. So stop by, but be gentle with us please (some staff is not working, on purpose, and some former employees are coming in just to help), but enjoy the presence of that happy, smart, strong, determined young man that I am so proud to call my son. 8am-4pm. We thank you for the outpouring of love and support. ❤️

We are closed this week in honor of our beloved and respected team member, friend, and son, Gavyn Avery Drago.

This week, we will pause, reflect, and rest alongside him.

Gavyn touched the lives of so many of us with his kindness, warmth, and spirit. He will forever be a part of our family and in our hearts.

Thank you for your understanding as we take this time to honor Gavyn and remember the beautiful person he was.

long island’s north fork stole my heart during covid when I would drive aimlessly out there by myself and look for green or blue places on the map to explore.

since then, I find myself returning back as much as possible, continuing to find new spots and falling in love all over again with my faves.

there’s 1000 other things I could add to this list (I’ll have to do a part 2 & 3 at least!), but this was how I spent my most recent trip out on the NoFo✨
