For what it’s worth, we were the first cheesesteak shop in Jacksonville to offer seeded rolls and cooper sharp cheese many years ago before all the hype!

We are certainly not strangers to the seeded rolls. We were using them well over 5 years ago with our meatball parm’s and other specialty sandwiches before all the new hype like it’s some new invention. I don’t know what neighborhood you grew up in Philly, but I grew up in Kensington we used seeded rolls for rapini and Italian roast pork, meatballs etc. but Amoroso was the cheesesteak roll in every steak shop used for cheesesteaks. Some mainly delis offered the option for Seed or no seed. But I can tell you seeded is not considered traditional for a cheesesteak. It really comes down to preference, though I like both. But some people don’t like the seeds.
