We do ask that you respect the safety and behavior standards that we maintain for all customers and staff, respecting your fellow diners by having your children follow the rules the youngest member of our team (5yrs old) has to adhere to - no running & no prolonged crying or screaming. Fresh & local Black Drum - Keep posted-expecting oysters for Fried Oysters later at the back door! Will post when they come in! Been too small & not tasty so far this season - I've been pining for a big basket of Fried Oysters.

Slightly updated Menu for the weekend -
Spanish Bean Soup - $5 (made by yours truly! And as good as my brother George's, if I do say so myself!)
fresh & local Black Drum (close cousin to Redfish, also known as Red Drum) - Po' Boy, Basket w/Fries, or Blackened w/rice, veg, & beurre blanc sauce!
Keep your fingers crossed -Fried Oysters tomorrow if they look good when they get here!

We were wowed by the turnout this past weekend for Jax by Jax Literary Festival! Kudos to Tim Gilmore and his crew for a great job organizing, marketing, and matching writers with venues!
Mark Ari & Teri Youmans Grimm were spot-on picks for Cafe Freda, and very well received by the crowd! When's the next one?

Then Saturday night it was on to Festival D'Vine, where we served Chicken Curry tastes to hundreds! What a beautiful night - the rain held off & Treaty Oak Park was the perfect setting for folks to sample from Jacksonville's best restaurants! We were happy to be a part of Catholic Charities fundraiser - they give so much back to those in need all year long! Glad you suggested a year ago that we should participate, Nicole! And how fun to continue Cafe Freda's family theme - my nephew Trevor and his friend Jessica were my right hands for the evening - made me a happy camper!
