The Gary Mason Legacy Scholarship was established to assist 1 college student during the fall semester of each academic year who is enrolled at Jacksonville State University. As time continues to move forward, one cannot ignore the continuing rising price of college. As a pillar of the community, Gary Mason and his family-owned restaurant Mason’s BBQ aim to help alleviate the financial pressure of paying for college and assist 1 eligible student on their academic journey.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be an enrolled undergraduate student at Jacksonville State University
✅Must have at least a 2.5 overall GPA
✅Must submit an essay (500 – 1000 words) answering the following questions:

1. What are your future career plans and how will your current degree program help you achieve these plans?
2. What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
3. A brief description of your financial situation and why you are in need of this scholarship.

APPLICATION TIMELINE:
Application opens March 25th
Application closes July 15th
Scholarship is awarded (1 student) - July 31st

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept 2nd) Masons BBQ will be accepting Flex Dollars, Jax Cash, & Cocky Bucks!!

We are open Mon - Sat from 11 am - 10 pm & Sun from 11 am - 4 pm!
