Opened 25 years ago, El Cerro Grande is proud to be the first authentic Mexican restaurant in town! This traditional Mexican restaurant in Wilmington, NC is owned by the Ibarra family from the small Mexican town of Degollado. The name El Cerro Grande is inspired by a “Big Hill” close to their family ranch. El Cerro Grande began as an idea to provide authentic, quality Mexican food with exceptional

and friendly service, and the door of their first restaurant was opened in Wilmington, NC in January 1991. It has since grown to include three locations in Wilmington and one location in Jacksonville.
