Well….anyone ready for good news??!! On Saturday (my birthday) James Mangham and I went to MDA for a mid treatment CT Scan required by the insurance company. We went for our normal chemo follow-up today as well as labs, and as we were leaving, our NP came out because she had just gotten the results of the scan.
Just a reminder, the testing we have had done previously showed his stomach cancer has spread to local and distant lymph nodes, lungs, spine and hip. The lesions showing on James’ lungs are GONE. The lymph nodes that lay behind the stomach have “resolved” and once again look normal. He has additional lymph nodes in the chest area that have resolved and others that have reduced in size.
We are showing some additional lesions in the thoracic area of his spine as well as his hip. They do not appear to be of major concern as they are not mentioned in the report “impression”.
The words of our NP Sarah were, “Go hang this report on the fridge because you are kicking cancer’s ass right now!” She went on to say that these are VERY good results and she’s excited and we should be too!
To each and every one of you who has helped us, even if just a brief thought or a moment of prayer WE THANK YOU! We wouldn’t be where we are right now without the love and support of all of you and the power of God above.
We were not given this kind of prognosis or hope at the beginning of this journey and this is never where we thought we would be!! We are overwhelmed and so incredibly grateful…for every. single. day.
