Independence Day Cherry Chipotle Ribs and Pulled Pork taste test results among 4 neighboring households:

-1- Wow! Best BBQ we’ve ever had!! Everyone was picking at it until it was gone.

-1- Holy ****! Best BBQ we’ve ever tasted, and the wife doesn’t even like BBQ!!

-1- It was very good, we just like a bit more smoke. (I agreed and said the exact same thing to my wife after I took a bite. I ran out of hickory, opted out of white and red oak, and chose the milder pecan and cherry woods as an experiment.)

-1- Still waiting for a review, but he said he was taking it to work and sharing it with a work buddy

A success in my book. Thank you to our neighbors for giving your honest feedback. We expect nothing less and you folks brought it. Much appreciated!! This experiment was fruitful, fun, and shined another light on the conundrum of which woods are best for smoking. This is one reason why our wood choices change often, as we have not too many true favorite combinations and we tend to like everything! However, availability does play a critical role in the final wood decision. Next up…Peach, Pecan, & Hickory combo…Georgia style!
