We are proud to announce the 2022 Food Vendor for the inaugural Dîner en Blanc Jackson: Chef Godfrey Morgan.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Morgan began his career in the U.S. by working with world-class chefs in casinos throughout Mississippi and Louisiana. He later became the executive chef at Jackson State University in 2007, where he would stay for the next 11 years. After developing his own catering company, Morgan expanded his culinary territory by becoming the owner and executive chef for Godfrey’s — a Caribbean-American fusion restaurant now with two locations in South Jackson and Flowood.

The City With Soul is blessed to have a talent like Chef Godfrey. He was awarded Best Chef in 2021 and Best Chef and Caterer in 2020 by the Jackson Free-Press. With a signature blend of flavors flourishing in Jamaican, Caribbean and Asian cuisine along with Southern culture, Morgan is ready for this new and exciting role. And we are elated to have him as a vital part of the Team.

Godfrey’s started out as a small place to serve lunch to-go a couple of days a week, but it has grown so fast that we have struggled to keep up with the demand. Because of each and every one of you, Godfrey’s has grown amid a pandemic, a nation-wide labor shortage, and a disintegrating plaza. It is because of your patronage and we humbly thank you for your support and feedback. We have heard your concerns and done our best to serve you well, but now has come time for us to relocate into a bigger space. So, it is with great pleasure that we announce Godfrey's Restaurant is officially moving! Our Terry Road location will close on July 31, 2021. We will be closed for 2 – 3 months as we make this transition. When we re-open, we will have 2 locations to serve you: one in Jackson and one in Flowood. We look forward to providing you with the best and most authentic cuisines fused together from around the world!
