In Jackson, Alabama you’ll find Ed’s Drive-In, a throwback spot that still captures the feel of the classic drive-up burger joints that once lined highways across the South. This small, timeworn building may show its age, but the food coming out of the window stays true to its roots. You place your order at the counter, then enjoy it from your car or at picnic tables beneath the glowing vintage sign. The menu centers on hefty, made-to-order burgers, including bacon cheeseburgers, along with crinkle-cut fries cooked in separate fryers early in the day. You’ll also find fried shrimp, steak sandwiches, onion rings, cheese sticks, poppers, and sweet potato tots. Hand-spun milkshakes made with real ice cream round things out, keeping a mid-20th-century tradition alive.

Ed’s Drive-In in Jackson, Alabama will take you back in time to when old-school drive-up burger and ice cream joints could be found all across the state! While this little spot is one of the last of its kind in Alabama with the building showing signs of its age…the food here remains just as authentic and delicious as it was back in the day! At Ed’s Drive-In, you order at the window, then eat in your car or at a picnic table under the classic light-up sign.

The menu leans heavy on big, old-style burgers, including bacon cheeseburgers made fresh to order. Fries are crinkle-cut, and there are separate fryers, so fish does not mix with fries early in the day. You can also get fried shrimp, steak sandwiches, onion rings, cheese sticks, poppers, and sweet potato tots. Milkshakes are hand-mixed with real ice cream and milk. It’s a solid stop when you’re passing through Jackson and want something more "mom-n-pop" style rather than one of the many chain restaurants you'll find these days! This place is as legit "Alabama" as they come!
