The Mississippi State Department of Health has issued a multi-city boil water notice for City of Flowood and City of Jackson effective 12:30 p.m. Thursday. This is an unprecedented occurrence. Never before have we seen something like this. Many believe there was a sampling or testing error, much like when my doctor told me last summer that my labs showed I had elevated potassium levels, yet when he asked me about banana and ibuprofen consumption, I said rare if ever. His answer was that the lab seemed to be flagging quite a few of these instances, and he would check.

PLEASE ... LET'S RUN MORE TESTS AND GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS... HOW CAN TWO SEPARATE CITIES ON TWO SEPARATE WATER SYSTEMS ON THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME TIME HAVE CITY-WIDE OCCURANCES OF CONTAMINATION IN THE WATER SUPPLY? IT MAKES NO SENSE!

Hopefully JXN Water and City of Flowood water department will connect with the good people at MSDH and get this resolved

In the meantime, our restaurants, BRAVO! Italian Restaurant and Bar, Broad Street Bakery & Cafe and Sal & Mookie's New York Pizza & Ice Cream Joint are following boil water protocols. No worries here.... canned drinks and bottled water, clean ice, boiled water for cooking and baking.
