I had the pleasure of providing a private dinner experience for my Incubator brother, Cam, and his beautiful wife, my sis Sevyn, as they celebrated their birthdays. Every moment of preparing and serving this meal was truly appreciated.

When my husband asked me how the dinner went, all I could say was, “It was peaceful.”

From the moment I walked in, it felt like home. I asked Sevyn if she wanted the table set or if she preferred for us to serve them on the couch. They chose to be served right where they were, cozy and comfortable together. Y’all, it was so sweet watching them relax, enjoy each other’s company, and simply be present with one another without the kids. And honestly, I know that feeling!

Sometimes you don’t want to get dressed up and go out. Sometimes you just want to stay home, relax, and let someone else take care of everything for a change. I’m grateful that Brown & Boujee Catering was able to provide that experience and give them the opportunity to simply enjoy one another.

As the chef, this experience was refreshing for me too. There was no rush, no pressure, and no need to fill awkward silence with conversation. I was able to cook, listen to my music, laugh and cut up with my sister, and simply serve while they relaxed and enjoyed their special evening.

This was the refresher I didn’t know I needed.

Thank you both for trusting Brown & Boujee Catering to be a part of your birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to you both, and thank you for allowing us to serve you on your special day. ❤️

To Trunetta thank you for giving me wings to fly. Even during times when you probably didn’t even feel like flying yourself, you still took the time to teach me, guide me, and pour into me.

To Lisa thank you for dedicating 10 weeks to helping me navigate entrepreneurship and making sure I had the tools, knowledge, and resources I needed along the way.

To Beth thank you for making the connection that helped seal the deal and open doors for B&B Catering.

All three of these ladies saw a problem and came together to help solve it. Yes, it still took me showing up and giving 100%, but if it wasn’t for these women coming into my life at the RIGHT time, I’d probably still be searching through hell and high waters trying to find the perfect home for B&B Catering.

I truly just want to thank you all and give you your flowers for the amazing things you’re doing for the city of Jackson 💐💐💐

These keys don’t just open the doors to Brown&Boujee Catering… they open doors to opportunity, growth, creativity, generational wealth, community, and proof that dreams really do come true when you refuse to give up.

Self… thank you for stepping outside the box, taking risks, crying a little, stressing a lot, and still getting up every day and just fu***ng DOING IT. Fear tried to spin the block a few times, but we moved faster.

To my B&B Team, thank y’all for staying down with me and believing in this vision. And staying down I love y’all for real. 🫶🏾🙌🏿

And to everybody that has supported Brown&Boujee Catering in ANY type of way whether you booked, shared a post, bought a plate, or even just told somebody “man that food good” 😂 thank y’all from the bottom of my heart because every bit of support helped make this possible.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but quitting was never an option.
