Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming creates pathways for people to begin farming and expand their ability to grow food.

Our vision is to cultivate an equitable and sustainable food system. We prioritize our services for small beginning farmers, farmers of color, refugees and growers from underrepresented groups. We are located on traditional and contemporary Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ land (Ithaca, NY) and serve the broader region.

Join our mid-year campaign and we’ll send you a free Groundswell-inspired print by local artist Maryam Adib.

All contributions are tax deductible, and during this campaign, they go twice as far: the first $1,000 in contributions will be matched by a generous donor!

🔧 Farm Tools 101: Building Confidence with Farm Tools

Ready to feel more confident using farm tools? Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of common farm tools, safe handling practices, ergonomics, and simple maintenance techniques.

Participants will rotate through interactive stations with guided demonstrations and hands-on practice led by experienced farmers and staff. No prior experience needed!
