Good Monday morning, Friends!!
Today we are announcing a β οΈ BIG, EXCITING CHANGE!! β οΈ
While we will be open for business as usual this week as The Mission, located at π475 S Main Street in Ironton, big changes are coming!
This week we are open π 10-4 Monday-Thursday and 10-2 Friday.
Then next week we will be CLOSED all week as the new owners of this location get set up to reopen the following week!
That's right - The Mission is under new ownership and will change names, but the community outreach and involvement will remain much the same. Rick and Stephanie Smart, long term volunteers at The Mission, have a strong desire to help others and have become very involved in The Valley. And when we decided to retire/start a career, they felt the call to step in. We pray everyone continues to stop by and shop and get to know the new owners while still enjoying the same wonderful shopping experience!
We know this comes as a shock, and it all happened very fast. But we want everyone to know a few important things. First: we love each and every one of you!! Over four years ago we set out, as a family, to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this community and we have done that. The Bible says not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. So, we've stayed true to that. We opened the Thrift Store to fund our desire to help others financially and God has succeeded on our behalf. We've met many wonderful people, paid countless bills, given away tons of clothes and household items, and told countless people how much God loves them. That's success to us.
Second: WE'RE GOING TO MISS YOU!!! But we, as individuals, are still a part of this community and we're excited to still see all of our friends when out and about.
Third: we love the new owners and KNOW that God has His hand in this passing of the baton. Their goals and reach and energy and ability far exceed what we've been able to do and we know they will be a great asset to the community!
The 'sweet old lady' (Susan) everyone asks about will be at The Mission this week. So if you'd like to stop by and see her and say goodbye to her, definitely stop by.
We have LOVED being a part of this community in this way. It is simply time to move on to other things for various reasons and we do so with hope and excitement. We have loved all our volunteers and thank each and every one and all our current ones are staying on. We've loved our customers and all those who have become friends.
We will see you when you stop by this week. Remember that GOD β₯οΈ loves you and so do we! And wherever God finds you today, may you be very blessed!
