Festivities kick off at 10:00 AM with fun for all ages — live music, games, and family activities.

The Kids’ Eating Contest starts 11:30 AM with participants racing to finish a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce — no utensils allowed.

Then comes the Adults’ Contest, competitors face off against local celebrities to conquer a Half‑Gallon Bucket of Zio Johno’s spaghetti with meat sauce — also no utensils.

Celebrating 42 Years. Zio Johno's, 1984 – 2026.

In celebration of our 42nd Anniversary, Zio Johno’s is hosting a Spaghetti Eating Contest at our Marion location on Saturday, September 26th.

Festivities kick off at 10:00 AM with fun for all ages — live music, games, and family activities.

The Kids’ Eating Contest features 25 participants racing to finish a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce — no utensils allowed.

Then comes the Adults’ Contest, where 15 competitors face off against local celebrities to conquer a Half‑Gallon Bucket of Zio Johno’s spaghetti with meat sauce — also no utensils.

How to Enter: Visit any Zio Johno’s location (Cedar Rapids, Marion, Iowa City) and register by September 23rd, 2026.

Top competitors win cash prizes, Zio Johno’s gift certificates, and a free event shirt.
