It is a sad day in the nest. As some of you may have heard, we are closing Smothered Goose. We had a building inspection in preparation of purchasing, however the issues presented were too many and the expense to repair was greater than what we are willing to deal with. Initially the plan was to stay open for December, however, additional circumstances that I will not address here have come up. We will not be reopening.
As for other buildings available in town. We did not bring in enough profits to absorb the cost of moving. I put a lot of energy into making sure we put out a product that I could be proud of. I put a lot of energy into ensuring the guest experience was such that you would want to come back. The cost of labor and lack of experience made it more challenging as I was never able to get away. At this time I have nothing left to give. I will not be looking to start a new restaurant.
We are thankful for the opportunity we were given to provide a service to the community. We are thankful for our loyal customers and for all the amazing feedback we received.
