Hello, you may have seen me during one of your visits to the village or the Inn. I am Janette and I’m so excited and thankful to receive my 5 year service award. It has been an honor to be a part of the Kitchen Kettle Village family. I began 5 years ago as a Village Host, greeting all of our wonderful guests that visited us via bus. I loved getting on the bus and seeing all of your smiling faces as I welcomed you to the village.

In 2020 I joined the Inn, unfortunately it was March 13th, the day the world shut down due to Covid-19. I had to wait until September to start the job I was so excited to begin. I was finally able to start my current position as Inn front desk/concierge. I’m blessed to have met so many wonderful guests these past three years. I love getting to know you all beyond simply hello. We’ve experienced some historic times together. We’ve talked in person and on the phone from the happiest of topics to the saddest. I love welcoming you all to our wonderful Inn. I love that you know my story and I know yours. I love giving you restaurant suggestions and things to do in the area.

Just today I reconnected with a long time guest. We hugged, smiled, laughed and reminisced. I’ll share a memorable story; after so many years of being an at home mom, I wasn’t home to share my daughter’s special news, I shared the joy of my daughter’s college acceptance with this amazing guest. My daughter will be a Junior in college this fall. We created this memory together and talked about it today❤️

Working at the Inn is so very fulfilling, I love every minute. Making our guests’ stay special and memorable is my goal everyday that I am here. Making all of these wonderful connections is just the icing on the cake. Cheers to 5 years! 😊🎊🎉

Our Inn lobby is now located in the heart of the Village, right across from the Harvest cafe! We have designated parking spots for our Inn guest to use while checking in, right next to the Deerskin Leather shop. We look forward to hosting you!

We would like to wish Joanne heartfelt Congratulations on her retirement as she begins this next chapter. She will be missed.

Here is a short message from Joanne:

After growing up in Kitchen Kettle Village from its very start in 1954 in the garage, coming back home from college to begin the greatest learning experience ever, being a part of an incredible family business team and an ever-expanding management team, I am finally ready to retire from operations in the Village.

Beginning January 1, 2023 The Inn at Kitchen Kettle Village will come under the umbrella of my brother’s and niece’s company. So it will be a seamless transition – the same attention to detail, the same friendly faces you’ve come to know and love, and the same warm welcome to and back to the Village for our guests.

Thank you for years of growth, adventure, building relationships and happiness. My love and very best to each of my nieces as they chart their own paths just like their father, aunt and uncle did beginning a long time ago.

As for me I’m looking forward to a little bit of travel, playing with my children and four grandchildren - a trip to Disney, the example we at Kitchen Kettle have used many times for inspiration - and getting up in the morning at whatever time I please. I will also continue to keep an eye on the Village as a member of the real estate Board of Directors.

Thank you to all our guests, employees and friends of Kitchen Kettle Village. As my mother used to say, it’s been quite a ride!
