🍁✨ A little fall has arrived on the front porch! ✨🍁

I’ve been adding some autumn touches to my miniature porch, and I think my favorite part might be the new little residents who have moved in for the season. 🎃

The scarecrow is standing guard at the bottom of the steps, the pumpkin goose is ready to welcome visitors, and the porch light makes everything feel so cozy after dark. 🥰 There’s just something about seeing a miniature scene lit up that makes it feel like a real little world.

I love filling my houses with those tiny details that make you want to lean in and look a little closer. 🏡🍂🌼

🎨 Well… I may have a paint problem. 😂

I finally tackled my paint wall! I purged all the old, dried-out bottles, cleaned everything up, and reorganized what was left by color. There’s something ridiculously satisfying about seeing them all lined up like this. 😍🌈

Of course, now that they’re organized, I can clearly see all the colors I’m missing… which seems dangerous. 😂

How do you organize your paints? By color? Brand? Type? Or are yours living happily in a drawer/bin/box where you dig until you find what you need? 🤣

And just for fun—what paint color do you seem to buy over and over again, no matter how many bottles you already own?

I spent some time purging all my old paint and finally reorganized the survivors by color. I’m not going to admit how long this took—or how many bottles I discovered that I apparently thought I needed multiples of. 🤦‍♀️😂

A Live Miniature Workshop on Zoom

Join me for a cozy afternoon of miniature making as we create “Autumn at the Old Mailbox,” a charming 1:12 scale miniature scene filled with rustic details, autumn foliage, woodland touches, and just a little Halloween fun!

During this live 3–4 hour Zoom workshop, I'll guide you step-by-step as we build, paint, landscape, and assemble the project together.

📦 YOUR WORKSHOP KIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CREATE THE PROJECT — EXCEPT PAINT & GLUE!

Your kit will include all of the miniature pieces and materials needed to recreate the 1:12 scale scene shown, including:

🍁 Rustic mailbox and post
🎃 Jack-o'-lantern
✨ Magnet-operated light for inside the jack-o'-lantern
🪄 Magnet wand to turn the light on and off
🐦‍⬛ Crow
🐈‍⬛ Cat
🛞 Rustic wagon wheel
🌾 Grasses, foliage & landscaping materials
🌸 Autumn flowers and ground cover
🌲 Pinecones and other finishing details
…and everything else needed to complete the project!

Participants will only need to supply their own tweezers, paints, paintbrushes, and glue—everything else is included in your workshop kit!

You'll receive your complete project kit before the workshop, and we'll create the scene together in real time. You'll be able to ask questions, see demonstrations up close, and work along with me from start to finish.

After two years of pouring my heart into every tiny detail, my miniature workshop created in memory of my mom is finally complete. ❤️ This project has meant so much to me, and every stitch, tool, fabric scrap, and corner was inspired by the love she gave me and the incredible talent she had as a seamstress and cross-stitcher. Finishing it is both emotional and beautiful, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. More photos — and possibly a video tour — will be coming later so you can see all the little details that made this labor of love so special.

Do any of my healthcare friends recognize the “trash” plastic I rescued from the hospital and turned into this adorable little miniature pool? 😂 What was headed for the garbage became the perfect tiny summer scene!
I gave a mass-produced baby a full makeover with new eyes, lips, and hair, then brought the whole setup to life with handmade details. The pool toys were 3D-printed and hand-painted by me, and the little doggy was also 3D-printed, painted, flocked, and finished with his own tiny collar and tag. 🐶☀️
The unfinished 3D printed pieces are available in my album, Melissa’s Tiny Treasures, in the group Miniature Artisan Estate Sales Established June 2020. I’d love for you to take a peek and let me know what you think!
