🎮 X-Men is out of surgery and recovering nicely. 🩺

If you’ve played in the last few days and experienced some extra balls—or worse, dead balls—we’re sorry. 😬

After a little poking, prodding, adjusting, and testing, we think we’ve got those issues cleared up and X-Men is back in fighting shape.

Oh, and we replaced a broken rubber while we were in there. You can never be too careful. 🤭😂

We’re not quite ready to flip the switch on customer use yet, but our built-in-house arcade platform is moving along nicely!

Readers are going in, hardware is getting installed, and everything is starting to come together. Soon enough, tapping in to play is going to look a whole lot different around here. 👀

🤓🎮 NERD ALERT: It works.

We’ve been quietly building our own arcade platform in-house, and after a whole lot of coding, wiring, testing and probably a few questionable decisions… the concept officially works. 🙌

Software? Working.
Hardware? Talking.
Machines? Taking credits.
Us? Waaaay too excited about Raspberry P*s, NFC readers and relays. 😂

Next up is finishing the hardware installation and getting it down to an easy, repeatable plug-and-play setup.

And that’s where this little project might get a LOT bigger. 👀

Once we nail down the hardware, we’re considering offering the software as a SaaS platform for other bars, breweries and arcade operators—with a DIY hardware option, preconfigured hardware, and potentially onsite installation.

The goal from day one has been to build something waaaay more affordable than the commercial arcade systems currently available, while adding some features we haven’t found elsewhere.

For now, we’re the guinea pigs. 🐹🎮

More details coming over the next few weeks as we finish installing everything at The Abandoned Station.

What started as “I bet we could build that ourselves” is getting dangerously close to “I think we accidentally built a product.” 😂🍺🍕🎮

🤓 NERD ALERT. 🤓

If y’all didn’t know, we’re kind of nerdy around here.

So naturally, instead of just buying a pinball membership system, we bought a Raspberry Pi, some NFC equipment, relays and a pile of wires and decided:

“Yeah… we can probably build that.” 😂

The idea? An UNLIMITED PINBALL MEMBERSHIP. 🎯

You’d sign up for a monthly membership through Square(our POS system). We’ll nerd out with their API to verify your membership, then you tap an NFC card (and hopefully eventually your phone) at a machine and—BOOM. Credit added. 🪪➡️🎮

No quarters. No constantly swiping. Just tap and play.

We’re just at the first step of building and testing this thing, so we want to know:

Would you pay monthly for unlimited pinball The Abandoned Station? And what would you consider a fair monthly price? 👀

Because apparently we needed one more reason for you to come in, drink b**r, eat pizza and play way too much pinball. 🍺🍕🎮

🥜 PEANUT BUTTER & STOUT | 10.5%
Imperial Stout brewed with lactose, peanuts, peanut flour & natural flavors. Basically a peanut butter cup that made some questionable adult decisions.

🍂 THIRD OF THE WAY TO MÄRZ | 6.0%
Traditional-style Märzen. Because whether we’re ready or not… fall is coming.

⚗️ ALCHEMIZE | 5.3%
West Coast-style Pilsner dry hopped with Citra LupoMax & Motueka Amplifire, plus Abstrax Quantum Motueka hop oil.
