A message from our owners:
I often say that after 25 years in this industry, there’s not much I haven’t seen in the restaurant business. Well, this is clearly something I haven’t seen, in fact, these are uncharted waters for all of us. Without a doubt, Covid-19 has become very challenging and even downright scary for all of us, on many levels.
We cannot be clear enough when we say that the health and safety of our employees and guests is our #1 PRIORITY. There are a lot of unknowns with the Covid-19 virus, one of the most important of which is who has it and who doesn’t. We do not want to unknowingly expose anybody by not taking this as serious as it should be. As testing becomes more available in the upcoming weeks, we will have a better idea of who has it, but for now we just don’t know. We understand that pick-up/delivery is still available for now as an option, but as some of you may know, restaurant kitchens are often close quarters and very rarely are employees the CDC recommended 6 ft’ away from each other.
Everyone’s health and safety are more important to us than chasing what would essentially equal a small percentage of our normal daily sales by offering these services which are not normally a large part of our business. The whole point of the Governor taking the unprecedent action to shut down all restaurants is to stem the outbreak of the virus. We believe it is our social responsibility to treat this like it’s a matter of life and death, because it very well could be.
Additionally, we appreciate all the inquires of concern about our employees, we think they are pretty great as well! They are the most important part of why our business is successful. We have numerous programs (including financial) in place to support them and their families during these challenging times.
As we have encouraged our employees, use this time to spend some quality time with your family and loved ones, working on yourself, whatever… but most importantly, remain safe and healthy and PLEASE stay at least 6ft’ away from other people!
Sincerely,
Andrew Vudis & Ryan Craig
