Meet Sharon.
Sharon has been coming to Greiner‘s for a year.
When asked if she was craving Greiner’s today after she woke, her reply was, “What’s not to crave, my dear?!!”

Sharon has a 28-year-old grandson that is working on his PhD. I reminded Sharon that he could reach out after he is finished with his PhD as we are still hiring. She promised to convey the message.

Sharon wanted to be a violinist when she was growing up but she became a social worker instead. When asked how she felt about that decision. She replied.- “ Well back then I played the violin when I was married to John, my ex-husband. He wasn’t a fan so I got rid of the violin. … … …
not my best decision. “

Sharon spends extra time watching documentaries. She especially enjoys those that involve global travels.

Sharon does not currently have a boyfriend but said she is not closed to the idea.

We never ask a girl her age but… Sharon voluntarily shared that she will be 84 next month!

Meet Rachel and Ryan
They met 2 1/2 years ago.
For Ryan’s first lunch date, he took Rachel to Greiner‘s because its his favorite sammich place in the world…
Once a week they make homemade soup together.
They have two pitties named Gracie and Leo. .
Their favorite thing in the world to do is to find music festivals.
They are big foodies and love local restaurants. Not much of a chain duo.
Ryan loves to stare at Rachel because she is so beautiful.
Rachel loves photography and Ryan loves Rachel.
Had he said this before he bought his lunch, I would’ve given him a free sammich. We love real love.

Rachel power lifts.
Rachel likes to twirl.
Ryan is doing the mini next May.
While Rachel has claimed their life might be boring… It certainly is not. She also repurposes clothes and is currently bedazzling a pair of jeans.
(We should all use the word bedazzle more often)
Don’t be jelly… about the fabulocity of their life.
Be like Ryan.
Be like Rachel.
Twirl, be in love and go to Greiner’s for a sammich…  then live happily ever after.

Meet Brenan, Jerzy and Aldo.
They got a ham sammich, sea salt brownies and Ringo’s Onion Rings.
So here’s the story…
They bet Brenan that if he could not talk the entire time in Greiners, that his lunch would be paid for.
He did a great job… Until the very end. He will be Venmoimg Jerzy a his due amount since he opened his mouth and spoke.
We believed in you, Brenan, until the end.
Brenan has his own clothing line, because everyone has their own clothing line. He has a dog named Cookie.
Jerzy used to have a frog and now has a cat named Nala. We don’t know if those two things are related, but we hope not.
Aldo has a dog named Al-Qaeda.
He is also a professional Fortnite player.
These three are best friends.
They love our food.
We love them.

Once upon a time, the owner of Greiner’s (also known as the intern ) was at Costco and met these wonderful and peculiar girls.

Meet Darlene
She used to ballroom dance and did it all the way up till the young age of 88.
True story.
She learned to play the piano in her 70s.
She claims that one day, the best thing going in Indianapolis will be her funeral and the celebration of her life .
She dresses up in costumes with or without an event. We didn’t question this as we wanted her to embrace that this was normal.
She was a beautician at LS Ayres. She enjoyed the bowl cut. For real.

Meet Rachel
She loves all animals and includes insects in that group.
She could never kill a spider and if she catches you doing so she will take you down.
She likes to write tongue twisters at home alone. While we don’t exactly know what that means, we left it well enough alone.

Becky
Has been known to be annoyed by people that tapped their fingers on tables.
She still lives in the house that her mother built. . (her words, not ours.)
She gives people shots and sometimes they cry.

Meet Paula
Paula moved to Oregon.
She lived in the same house as all the other girls at this table.
Again… She moved to Oregon.
They do not make tenderloins in Oregon.
She comes to Indianapolis once a year. She knows every word to every song that was ever written.

Meet Nina.
She came here at 2 1/2 years old from Haiti for a surgery for her feet.
By chance, and of course, much more than that… her family knew immediately that they were her forever family.
She believes ice cream to be at the top part of the pyramid food chain. While we know the real answer is submarine sandwiches, we let her believe that ice cream indeed was at the top of the food chain.

Be like these kind, fun, peculiar, one of a kind souls.

If you are a regular at Greiner’s, you know our boy Ringo, our beloved feral.
Sadly, Ringo was hit and killed by a car this morning.
He greeted all of you outside warmly before you even came in the door; he never knew a stranger.
If you know Brian, who runs our shop, this was his boy and his heart is a bit bruised and broken today- show him the love.
We are open till 7P today for anyone that wants to cry with us.

And so all good things must come to an end.
We had the privilege to be one of 30 trucks from around the country at GenCon 2025.

Thousands hungry.
Thousands served.

Serve is the root word for everything we do.
We’re in the service business- our product just happens to be food.
Whether in our store or on any of our trucks, it’s a privilege to serve every single person and these were just some of the ones that we met in the last 96 hours.

A huge shout out to our staff. This job is not for the faint at heart.

Meet Becky and her people. They are regulars, but not regular people. 

Meet Kurtis. Kurtis recently fell in love with a girl. Women near and far are mourning their loss. Sorry girls.
Meet Betsy. She just celebrated her one year anniversary and did so by power washing her house. Her husband was there too.
Meet Ethan. Ethan goes by he/him. He is looking for his wife on a Farmers dating site. (we actually don’t think he’s a farmer.)
Meet Sarah with an H. She fought an alligator. She is from Florida. We like her. A lot.
Meet Kyle. Oh my. Kyle flipped a car. He was in it. Kyle has a girlfriend in China. He said.
Meet Fish. Fish has four children and six sports. He likes three of them.

Meet Pat.
Meet Teresa without an H.
Meet Ray.
They are Master Gardeners with
THE GARFIELD PARK MASTER GARDENERS ASSOCIATION. (All caps but no one is yelling.)
Be impressed more when you find out that they are ALL part of the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program.

Pat says that Teresa is like the President.
Growing up, Ray used to like to play in the dirt and he would get grounded every time he got caught.
Jill said that what makes all of them happiest is when they are playing in the soil outside, AND eating Greiner’s sammiches. (Just made that part up.
They volunteer their amazing craft by giving or their time and talent all over Garfield Park.

Lil trivia for you:
Garfield Park is the oldest city park in Indianapolis.
And hey,
Greiner’s is the oldest submarine shop in Indianapolis.
