Last night, the owners of two businesses that were a big part of us falling in love with this community stopped into Drifters to celebrate a special birthday.
When we first moved to the Eau Gallie Arts District, we were living on a 30-foot sailboat with our kids and our dog, just finding our rhythm in a new place. Long before Drifters - and even before Costa Rica - Danny skated professionally, and we’ve always been drawn to skate, art, and street culture. We also ran a small shop called Urban Awol where we designed and printed our own tees.
During our time in EGAD, we loved walking into places like and - honestly just thinking how rad they were and feeling an instant connection to what they were doing. They were a big part of what made us fall in love with that creative, like-minded energy in the community.
Seeing them both walk into Drifters last night was a pretty special full-circle moment.
Thank you for the inspiration, for keeping art, creativity, and culture alive in the community, and for supporting small businesses like ours 🤘
Feliz Cumpleaños Rob 🤙
