It has taken me a few days to be able to even attempt to write this due to the shock and the grief of losing someone who was so very dear to me.
It's hard to find the words to express what a huge impact C Keith Edison has made in my life and how badly my heart hurts knowing he's gone.
Keith was one of the very first people I met when we were first looking at possibly buying the cafe. His kindness and humor and the genuine care for the community that he expressed during our first conversations had an impact on our decision. Once we did buy the cafe Keith had lots of ideas and suggestions to share and we had hours of conversations where I got to know him better. We closed the cafe for about 11 months while we remodeled and updated and Keith stopped by almost every single day that we were there working. Keith and Tom Waldera were our biggest cheerleaders, supporters and proponents and rallied community support for us before we even opened.
When we did open, Keith was so excited and wanted to be involved and asked if I minded if he helped to serve coffee every once in awhile. And as everybody knows, once in a while turned into fairly often! 🙂 Keith loved this town and the people in it and they all loved him back and came to see him.
Keith was an amazing person and became a sort of surrogate father for me. He gave me advice, he listened to my concerns, he genuinely cared and he had the most amazing hugs. I will miss him terribly.
Keith, thank you for everything. I will love you always.
