Throughout the month, we've had the opportunity to spotlight incredible team members across Flynn Group who shared what their heritage means to them, the traditions they carry, and the pride they bring to their communities and workplaces.

While Hispanic Heritage Month may be coming to an end, our appreciation for the people, cultures, and perspectives that make our teams stronger continues year-round. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and helped us celebrate!

After 43 years with Arby's, Kristy Brave is officially retiring!
Over four decades, Kristy has done far more than lead restaurants. She's built teams, developed future leaders, created lasting friendships, and made an impact on countless people along the way.
Her career is a reflection of what it truly means to lead with heart.

Play Like a Champion: Kristy brought dedication, passion, and a commitment to excellence to everything she did.

Win as One: She believed in the power of teamwork and helped those around her grow and succeed.

For Broderick Dominguez, General Manager with Flynn Pizza Hut, these are the things that make his Hispanic heritage so meaningful.

Growing up in Topeka, KS, Broderick loved attending cultural celebrations surrounded by family and community. Today, he brings that same spirit into his restaurant, sharing his love of cooking and creating a place where his team feels connected.

His approach to leadership is rooted in a lesson he hopes others remember:
“Everyone brings something to the table.”

Whether it's sharing a meal, embracing different perspectives or helping his team grow, Broderick believes great leadership starts with bringing people together.

Building relationships that go beyond our restaurants.
Thanks to Valerie and our Flynn Wendy’s team, we’re building stronger connections with schools and organizations in the Philadelphia community.
Most recently, Valerie connected with Fox Chase School, creating an opportunity for our Oxford, Cottman Avenue and Huntingdon Valley restaurants to support their Back-to-School Night with a raffle basket filled with Wendy’s goodies and coupons.
It’s a great example of how one connection can create opportunities to show up, give back and become an even bigger part of the communities we serve.
Thank you, Valerie, for taking the initiative and leading with heart. We can’t wait to see what you and the team cook up next!

For Melany Hernandez, Hispanic heritage is a huge part of who she is, from her family and traditions to the way she connects with others and leads at Flynn Applebee’s.
Melany credits her parents with teaching her resilience and the importance of working hard, even when the path isn’t easy.
She carries those lessons with her today, seven years after first joining Applebee’s at 18, as she works to inspire others to grow just as she did.
Her advice?
“Do not let fear get in the way. Be the change you want to see in the world.”
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re proud to celebrate Melany, her culture and the story she continues to build at Flynn.

More than 700 kids. One incredible day. And plenty of hugs for Frosty.
Our Wendy's Eastern Shore team recently joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore for SummerFest 2026. The event brought together youth from Baltimore City, Howard County and the Eastern Shore for a day filled with games, activities, great food and new experiences.
The kids were the real stars of SummerFest, but judging by all those hugs, Frosty was definitely a fan favorite!
We’re proud of our team for serving beyond our restaurants and making a difference in the communities we call home.

Family. Strength. Hard work. And never forgetting where you came from.
For Cindy Mendez, Area Director with Flynn Pizza Hut, those are more than values. They’re part of her heritage and part of the leader she is today.
Cindy credits her mom with teaching her to work hard, take care of family and keep going when things aren’t easy. Today, she carries those lessons with her as she develops and supports the next generation of leaders.
Her advice to them:
“Your background and experiences are strengths. Take chances on yourself, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.”

Meet Billy Strunk, President of Flynn Support & Integration.

Billy joined Flynn Group in 2023, drawn to our growth, pace, and people. He leads with a servant leadership mindset, listening first, trusting great people, and helping teams do meaningful work at scale.

For Billy, Flynn Support helps power premier operations across the business. The value that resonates most with him is Win as One, because every Support Center win helps our operators, teams, and guests.

His advice: own your development and start the conversation before you feel fully ready. His message to the team: “Always assume noble intent.”

Boots on the ground in Lawrence, KS. 🏈
We kicked off our first LSM Community Event at Free State High School, bringing together Flynn Arby’s, Flynn Pizza Hut and Flynn Panera for a night of community and connection.
From handing out swag and coupons to meeting students, families and neighbors, the best part of the night was simply getting outside the four walls of our restaurants and spending time with the people we serve.
Because being part of a community means showing up for it.
This was our first event, but definitely not our last.
📍 Next stop: Blue Springs!
Thank you to everyone who helped make the night such a great start. We’re excited to keep showing up, building relationships and making an impact in the communities we call home.
