Hey Sri’s Kitchen fam!!! ❤️
We wanted to share a little update about what’s been going on with our business, what we’ve been up to this season, and why we haven’t been as active as usual this year.
You all LOVE our food, and we LOVE serving you just as much! ❤️ Because of that, we wanted to find a way to bring our food to even more people. So… we decided to take a BIG step and grow Sri’s Kitchen from a food truck into an actual storefront!!! 🎉🥹❤️
Back in February, we signed a lease for an AMAZING storefront in Blue Springs, and we were beyond excited to finally get this next chapter started!
But… there’s one little catch. 😅
The space is a complete blank slate, which means we have to build out the entire commercial kitchen AND the serving space from the ground up.
We were so excited and ready to get rolling and open our doors as soon as possible. What we didn’t realize was just how long the process of finding the right general contractor would take.
Fast forward 8 months, and we are STILL in the process of hiring a general contractor. 😩
We’ve spent months talking to multiple contractors and waiting on bids. And something we didn’t know going into this process is that it can take 4–6 weeks (or more!) just to receive an estimated construction cost.
We’ve also unfortunately been ghosted by multiple companies after waiting weeks for responses, simply because we’re a small business and they weren’t interested in taking on a project of our size. 🤷🏾♀️
To be completely honest with you all… we are mentally, physically, and financially EXHAUSTED at this point. ❤️🩹
But we’re still here. We’re still pushing. We’re still believing. 🙏🏾
We are praying with everything we have in our hearts that these hurdles are removed and that things finally start moving forward successfully for us. 🙏🏾❤️
And THAT is why you haven’t seen us as much this year. We’ve been behind the scenes trying to figure out how to navigate this huge phase of growth for our little business.
This journey has definitely been much more challenging and much longer than we ever imagined, but we are incredibly grateful to have you all with us through it.
We promise to keep you updated as things happen and take you along for the ride — the good, the stressful, the exciting, ALL of it! 🥹❤️
So, Sri’s Kitchen fam… we could really use you right now. 🙏🏾
Send us some good vibes. ❤️
Say a prayer or two for us. 🙏🏾
Keep us in your thoughts. 🥹
We truly appreciate every single person who has supported Sri’s Kitchen, ordered from us, shared our posts, recommended us to someone, came to our pop-ups, or simply cheered us on.
We wouldn’t be here without you. ❤️
Here’s to hoping that the next update we share is…
“WE FINALLY HAVE A CONSTRUCTION START DATE!!!” 🎉😭❤️
Thank you for sticking with us, Sri’s Kitchen fam. We love you all! ❤️🙏🏾
