San Alejo has always been about more than food 🤲🏼
It’s about the people who walk through our doors, the families who gather around our tables, shared meals, traditions, and years of people making a place part of their lives 🫶🏻
That’s what San Alejo has always been about ❤️

Every visit, every memory, and every familiar face has helped shape who we are today 🙏🏼
San Alejo was built with corazón and deeply rooted in the community that continues to support us every single day ❤️

And soon… we’ll have something very special to celebrate together 👀

At San Alejo, many of our dishes are Salvadoran at heart 🇸🇻💙 or inspired by the flavors that have been passed down for generations 🤲🏼

Corn is at the center of many of them 🌽💛 More than an ingredient, it’s part of a tradition 🌱 In many Salvadoran families, when corn is harvested, everyone comes together to shuck, prepare, mash, dry, and prepare it for days of cooking ahead 😁☀️

From that single ingredient come countless recipes: riguas, tamales, atol, boiled corn, elote loco, corn fritters, pupusas, and more 🫶🏻 each one carrying history, technique, and community 🤲🏼🌽

This is more than food... It’s ancestral cooking, still alive at the table ❤️👨🏻‍🍳

Pupusas are the official traditional dish of El Salvador 🫓🇸🇻 a staple that fits any moment of the day 😉 Breakfast, lunch, or dinner… Salvadorans will always find a reason to enjoy them 🙌🏼🤩

Any day of the week is a good day for pupusas, but Sundays have become a tradition of their own 🫓📅
Many pupuserías say it’s the day they sell the most, welcoming not just customers, but entire families gathering around the table to share, laugh, and enjoy together 🫶🏻😉
