Good news and bad news.

Bad news first, we are going to remain CLOSED tomorrow.

Good news is that I fully expect to be open on Tuesday. And not only that, but we will be OPEN on Wednesday! That's right, for the first time in over three years! I have heard so many times now how many of you forget that we are closed on Wednesdays each week. So this will be a throwback to those good ol' days of eating double cheeseburgers and shakes on hump day! Just a one time thing though.

And I know that I haven't ate a single vegetable since the storm began, and likely won't until Tuesday. So here is a nice reminder of our wonderful salad bar that will be available Tuesday at 10:30 am! Not many other salad bars in town where nearly everything you see is being prepared in house. Including shredding all of our own cheese off the block, cutting own lettuce, dicing all veggies, making our own ranch. For a burger and shake place, our salad bar is nothing to sneeze at (in fact, please do NOT sneeze at it)!

Unless something drastic changes in the next two hours, we will be OPEN for lunch! Might as well venture out while it's still safe and get a fresh salad from our stocked salad bar! (I'm guessing we will be less busy than Dillons and Walmart were yesterday evening, so won't be a madhouse). And who doesn't want an Apple Crisp shake right before being trapped in their home for the next three days!?

We will likely CLOSE at 2 pm this afternoon, and be CLOSED all day tomorrow unless something changes. I will post here for sure when that time comes.

We've got winter storm Blair bearing down on us! Hope everyone stays safe this weekend.

Everyone is beginning to hunker down. And this may seem crazy, but just trust me. Come today and get a half gallon of ice cream. You'll be thanking me on Sunday when you are snowed in but still enjoying a nice treat!

Looking at the forecast, we will likely not be open at least part of the weekend. So don't bear the cold and storm unless you've checked our page first to make sure we are open.

November this year is a month of Weddings!

We will be CLOSED Saturday at 2:00 for the rest of the day. Why?! Because I'm getting married and all of us are going to celebrate!

Me and the future Mrs. Bogey's met at the restaurant over 11 years ago. 3 kids later and countless burgers and shakes sold and eaten, and we are finally tying the knot! To all of you long time customers, thank you so much for supporting not just the restaurant, but me and Jordan personally. You all mean a ton to us and our family.

To celebrate our new relationship with another long time Hutch restaurant, our April Shake of the month is Choco Taco! Ice cream and tacos?! Yes please!!

We are also rolling out more additions to our Dirty Soda menu. The latest additions are:

1) Pink Cupcake: Starry, cupcake and vanilla syrup and strawberry puree.

2) The OG: Diet Pepsi, lime and coconut creamer.

3) The Salted Caramel: Diet Pepsi and salted caramel syrup.

4 Watermelon Sugar: Mountain Dew, mango and watermelon syrups and coconut creamer.

5) Butter Beer: Rootbeer, butterscotch syrup and vanilla cream.

6) Pretty in Pink: Sparkling water, guava, grapefruit and orange juice.

7) Make it Dirty: Make any one of your favorite sodas "dirty" which means adding coconut creamer and a splash of lime. Don't knock it til you try it.

Alright, it's time to TACO 'bout it.

Last week I said that our own Crystal Luna would be heading up a new venture. While it is new to Crystal and myself, it is not new to the town.

As of today, Crystal and I have taken the reins at Taco Hut. We cannot be more excited and honored to be able to carry on the Hut's 50+ year legacy.

I spent the last week working with Angie and her mom Lynn at the Hut. If you don't know Lynn, she is the incredibly hard working woman who has been making every batch of taco meat, chili, refried beans, and much more every day for decades. And trust me when I say doing that sounds easier than it is. I've worked in a kitchen myself since I was a teenager. I'm not sure I've ever worked harder than when Lynn taught me how to make a batch of chili. Turns out trying to incorporate six cups of flour into 20 pounds of meat is INCREDIBLY hard. And as I was groaning and sweating trying to stir it all together, I'm pretty sure I heard Lynn chuckle beside me. Lynn clearly passed down her work ethic to Angie, who was making tacos so fast that I thought for moments that her hands were starting to blur. There is not going to be any replacing Angie and Lynn. But I am thankful to both of them for trusting me and Crystal to carry on their family legacy.

For those of you who have grown up with Taco Hut, know that I am only interested in continuing it as it has been for 50 years. Excellent, made from scratch food at an affordable price. Served by local ownership in a family friendly atmosphere. This town is made better by keeping these long standing institutions going. Of course, some change inevitably happens as time marches on, but I will always strive to make sure that what makes the Hut special will not change.

For you long time regulars, feel free to talk to me or Crystal about the Hut: share your memories and and what has kept you coming for so many years. And we will work hard to earn and keep your business as we take over operations.

Now the only thing left to say is: We will Meet Ya at the Hut!

It's the end of an era. If you've had a cheeseburger or a shake from Bogey's anytime in the last 35 years, chances are pretty dang good one of these three made it for you.

It is bittersweet for me to share with you all that the last of the Big 3, Crystal Luna, will be working her last shift at the store this week. Crystal has been holding it down here for well over 20 years. To say that we will miss her is an understatement. This is the bitter part, but there is still the sweet part.

As with Craig and Jenny before her, even though Crystal won't be at Bogey's any longer she will still be a part of the family. Like Jenny at Junior, Crystal will be leading another Bogey's venture, though this one actually doesn't involve any cheeseburgers or shakes. I hope to be able to share more about this new venture at the end of this week. She and I are both extremely excited for this new chapter.

Change is often scary and tumultuous. I am so blessed that even with losing Craig, Jenny and now Crystal, they each maintain a large and active role in the Bogey's family. I wouldn't be able to pursue the opportunities I have been able to without the three of you. Thank you Big 3, for everything you have done and continue to do for myself, my family, and Bogey's.

And Crystal - I know you are going to rock it.

Dirty Sodas are so hot right now! If you (like me six months ago) have never heard of them, trust me when I say they are a super tasty and fun family treat. And won't break the bank!

Starting today, you can get one of our first six Bogey's Dirty Sodas. Over the next couple of months we will add to our available Dirty Soda menu.

These sodas have become incredibly popular in some southern states and are working their way up the country. They are sodas or sparkling water mixed in with a huge variety of different syrups, creamers, purees, flavorings, whipped toppings, sprinkles and almost anything you can think of. A fun way to have a customizable drink, especially as the weather starts to heat up.

Without further ado, the starting Bogey's Dirty Soda lineup:

Strawberry Breeze: Sparkling water, strawberry puree, real strawberries and coconut creamer.

Fire Pepsi: Pepsi, cinnamon syrup, cherry syrup, maraschino cherries and shimmer.

Kermie: Starry, green apple syrup, kiwi syrup and whipped cream.

Bejeweled: Mountain Dew, peach syrup, blackberry syrup, and vanilla creamer.

Cruel Summer: Lemonade, Starry, mango syrup, pineapple syrup, and strawberry syrup.

Shark Attack: Starry, Lemonade and blue raspberry syrup.

For a lot of us, we are at the beginning of fish season! We are a Burger and Shake kind of place, but we do love our fish.

Every year throughout Lent, we have our Fish Tacos, a Fish Sandwich, and a Fish Basket. Made with fried white fish, in house slaw mixed with our house made spicy ranch dressing, these fish tacos are hands down our favorite seasonal item here at Bogey's.

Year round, we have an awesome Tuna Salad sandwich. We prep our tuna salad in house, topped with onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. Served on a toasted wheat hoagie bun.

We also have a fantastic Shrimp Basket that I'd put up against any fried shrimp in town, both on quality and value. Tail on, breaded and fried shrimp, with a side of fries.

If you are taking a break from burgers and chicken, don't go anywhere else!

It's Super Bowl time! And that means it's going to be another Chiefs Sunday! As a Chiefs fan, man we are spoiled. For you non-Chiefs fans, I can't imagine how annoying we all are at this point.

Like last year, we are offering our Super Bowl Party Pack. It has 40 Boneless Wings and a Jumbo We**ie. All for only $26.99! This year we are offering a choice between the We**ies and Jalapeno Popper Bites as a side. These Popper Bites are spicy and fried delicious nuggets, but a good change of pace if you are looking for something non-potatoey. They are not on our normal menu, so will just be here for this Party Pack Special.

Our wings are fried to perfection, and we have two varieties: Buffalo, and Honey BBQ. Comes with your choice of dipping sauce. Though we always recommend our house made ranch.

The Super Bowl Party Pack is the perfect addition to your game day plans. Both the wings, wedgies and popper bites are great fresh, but also good if reheating them later in the day!

This year, like last, since the Chiefs are playing and we all want to enjoy the game, we will be closing AT KICKOFF! So, all party packs need to be picked up prior to kickoff. Kickoff is at 5:30, so be there before the game starts!

Feels like it has been forever: open normal hours tomorrow!

I want to take a moment to appreciate how hard everyone involved in the snow removal business has been working!

So tomorrow, for lunch or dinner, if you are a plow driver or anyone involved in the snow moving business that has kept the town moving the past two days, have a free meal on me and my staff. Scouts honor: just tell the cashier that you are a SnowMan or SnowWoman and they will hook you up.

Appreciate all of your hard work so far this winter and hope that it doesn’t keep up for the rest of the winter!
