This May, we’re proud to partner with The Pete Foundation as our Impact Partner for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Founded right here in Louisville after the Jones family lost their son Pete at 23, The Pete Foundation works to rally communities around mental health — breaking stigma, sparking honest conversations, and empowering young people to ask for help.

Mental health is health. And this month, every cup we pour is a small step toward making that true for more people in our city.

Mark your calendars! Join The Pete Foundation and us on May 29 for Drink Day, where $3 of every Toasted Coconut Cold Brew purchased goes directly to The Pete Foundation!

Gender equity isn't just a "women’s issue"—it’s a pathway to peace and shared success for entire families. Meet Albert Muganda Ntamukenga, a coffee farmer who discovered that true strength lies in partnership.

Before attending the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) training, the entire weight of his household rested solely on Albert’s shoulders. He carried the heavy burden of making every decision for the home, the coffee fields, and his family members alone.

By sharing leadership, Albert has found a more sustainable way to thrive. Today, his family plans their future as a team, using the GALS methodology to build a vision of equality.

Every bag of our Rooted Equity Blend includes a $3 donation to help more families like Albert's transition from the burden of doing it all alone to the power of doing it together. Available at all 17 stores and online!

At Heine Bros Coffee, our favorite part of the day is seeing familiar faces. For this installment of Coffee Stories, we’re featuring a long-time regular who has been part of our community for nearly a decade!

Since 2017, they have been making us their go-to spot, usually starting the day with a Hot Tea and a savory Egg & Cheddar Wrap (though a Lemon Poppy Muffin is always a tempting addition).

The highlight of their visits, however, usually involves some very special four-legged guests! Their favorite memory at the shop is bringing their dogs along to watch them happily dive into pup cups while the humans enjoy their own beverages and pastries. We love being the kind of community hub where even the pups feel like regulars. It’s been an honor being part of your morning —thanks for sharing your story with us!

Before joining the On the Ground (OTG) Gender Equity program, Noella faced a reality in which she had no autonomy in her own home. She was even denied access to certain foods because they were considered "for men only".

Today, Noella’s story is one of reclaimed power and peace. As a program graduate, she is now a decision-maker in her household.

Your support of our Rooted Equity Blend directly fuels this transformation. We are proud to donate $3 from every bag sold to OTG, supporting gender equity programs for families in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. This blend is available at all 17 stores and on our website.
