🍕 In 1961, a Marine named Edward “Big Ed” Neusel and his wife Ginger opened a pizzeria in Huntsville.
Two years later, a 17-year-old named Steve Denton took a job in the kitchen. He had no idea he’d spend the rest of his life there.
In 1969, Big Ed sold the shop to Steve and headed for Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he opened a new Big Ed’s.
Steve ran the Huntsville location for 42 years, until his death in 2011.
Today his three kids, Renee, Darrell and Dion, keep it going and not much has changed. The sauce and dough are made from scratch every day, every pizza is hand-tossed, and they’re still baked in the original seasoned gas ovens from the 1960s.
Congrats on 65 years! 🎉🎊
