🧶 Craft Stash Overflow? Let It Go… and Make a Little Dough! 💰

Crafters are very good at making things.
We may be even better at keeping things. 😂

Because you might need it someday.
Because you paid good money for it.
Because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Because you really did enjoy that hobby…once upon a time.

So the polymer clay, molds and sculpting tools stay in the cabinet.

The resin-making supplies stay packed in a bin.

The candle-making equipment waits patiently for your comeback.

The leather-working tools are still perfectly good.

And the wood-burning tools? Well…you’re definitely going to use those again someday. 😉😂

How do you feel about high-purity, toxin-free plant-based cleaning + wellness products?? 🌿♻️

Make It Place has been approved to become a retail and refill partner for Rustic Strength, a family-owned company right here in the Ozarks in southern Missouri. You know I'm always looking for high-quality local makers to support and bring to you here at the shop. Our Make It Fresh line of skincare has been very popular and I thought this might be something of interest to the local community here as well.

But before I take the plunge, I want to know if YOU would use it.

Rustic Strength makes plant- and earth-derived household and personal-care products with full ingredient transparency—from laundry detergent, fabric care, dish soap and hand soap to household cleaners, bath & body products, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and more.

But the part that really interests me is the refill system.

Instead of buying another container every time you run out, you could bring your container back to Make It Place and refill it. Less packaging, less waste, and a really convenient way to keep the products you use every day on hand.

I love the idea of bringing something like this to our community, and I've already done the work to get approved to offer it. But setting up a refill program would mean a significant commitment of space, inventory, equipment and time on my end—so before I jump in, I want to hear from you.

Would you use a Rustic Strength refill station at Make It Place?

And if you would, what would you be most likely to refill? Laundry detergent? Dish soap? Hand soap? Household cleaners? Shampoo or body products?

Every crafter has a stash. 🧶✂️🖌️

And somewhere in that stash is something you bought with VERY good intentions.

The yarn you never found the project for.
The knitting needles from your knitting phase.
The loom you were absolutely going to learn to use.
The embroidery floss tucked away in a box.
The artist paints from the hobby you haven't touched in years.
And that Cricut machine—or all those Cricut supplies—you really thought you'd use more. 😂

Here’s the thing: another crafter might be thrilled to find them.

That’s one of the things I love about craft-supply consignment at Make It Place. Supplies and equipment that are just taking up space at one person’s house can become someone else’s next creative adventure.

🐓Our rescued-from-the-sidewalk-on-the-square chicken 🐔 is doing much better out of the heat and drinking lots of water 💦. She’s clucking and walking around in Ozzy’s playpen 😊. And best of all someone is coming to pick her up!! Hooray! 🥳

UPDATE! Once she cooled off and drank some water she seemed right as rain and a local farmer came to pick her up 😊🐓

🚨🐔 HUNTSVILLE — DOES ANYONE NEED A CHICKEN?! 🐔🚨

We just found this poor chicken outside Make It Place on the Square. It has an injury on its back, and we honestly wonder if it may have fallen off a truck. 😳 It’s a BIG meat bird.

We need someone who can come get it ASAP — preferably within the next hour or so!

I cannot take it home because I have two bird-hunting dogs who would consider this a delivery order 😬, and my husband has made it quite clear that he is not volunteering for chicken-processing duty today. 😂

So… would anyone like to save this chicken? Or, um… eat this chicken? We are not judging. At this point, we just need someone equipped to take care of it appropriately. 🐔
