entoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. American Legion Baseball is one of the nation’s most successful amateur athletic programs, educating young people about the importance of sportsmanship, citizenship and fitness. The Heroes to Hometowns program connects local Legionnaires with recovering wounded warriors and their families, providing a variety of support activities. The Legion raises millions of dollars in donations at the local, state and national levels to help veterans and their families and to provide college scholarship opportunities. The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

Have you seen the incredible flag display in Huntley at the corner of Route 47 and Reed Road? 🇺🇸

The 425 American flags are more than a beautiful display. Every flag has a name. Every name has a story.

The Huntley Sons of the American Legion Squadron 673 invites you to be part of Flags for Heroes, a community tribute celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States and 175 years of Huntley history.

⭐ Sponsor a flag in honor or memory of a veteran, active-duty service member, first responder, healthcare worker, teacher, community leader, family member, friend, or hometown hero who has made a difference in your life.

For $50, your hero's name will be placed on a personalized tag attached to one of the flags, which will remain on display through Veterans Day, November 11, 2026.

Every sponsorship supports veterans' organizations through the Huntley American Legion.

You may notice one of our entrances is temporarily closed while we upgrade our doors. Don't worry. At least one entrance will always remain open, so you can still stop in and enjoy everything the Legion has to offer.

Known as the Father of the American Navy, Jones became famous for his courage, determination, and legendary words: "I have not yet begun to fight!" His leadership at sea helped shape the proud tradition of the United States Navy and inspired generations of American sailors.
