Hey Brick House Fans! Our Mainstreet is trying to raise Funds to help with new Flower Planters downtown! We encourage you to donate if you would love to help make downtown Huntington beautiful! Any amount will help!
"Why can't our downtown be more like Roanoke's downtown?"
We've often heard some variation of this question often over the past few years. We never take offense because Roanoke has a BEAUTIFUL downtown! It's so obvious that this is a space that is invested in and cared for by their community.
As we near the end of our Patronicity campaign to raise money to replace the planters, hanging baskets, and watering vehicle for downtown (9 days left, but who's counting?!) we are reflecting on the fact that Roanoke just fully funded a Patronicity campaign to add new pickle ball courts in one of their parks. Their community stepped up to that make that happen!
Our campaign is currently half way funded. We are so grateful to all of the downtown business owners, Main Street board members, community members, and beyond who have believed in this project and given financially to it! We have even had donors from other states!
And while all that is true, we still have a lot of ground to cover in the next 9 days to raise these funds!
So maybe when people ask the question "Why can't our downtown look more like Roanoke's downtown?", we will start answering by saying "Their community supports their improvement projects and that is reflected in the downtown you see today! Can we do the same?" We believe we can.
