Well… we’re finally doing it. ☕️❤️
Hardy’s is going to be OPEN ON SUNDAYS!
For the month of October, we’re doing a Sunday trial run from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.
We’ve prayed about this for quite a while. We’ve talked about it, thought through it, and kept coming back to the same thing:
We love making people smile Monday through Saturday… so why not be available for someone on Sunday too?
This isn’t about adding another day just to sell coffee. We want Hardy’s to be a place that serves our community, gives people somewhere to gather, and — most importantly — be a light.
Sundays will be a little simpler to start:

❤️ A place to gather
We won’t be doing our hot breakfast menu on Sundays for now.
And we’d especially love to welcome Sunday School classes, small groups, church friends, families, or anybody who just needs a place to sit together for a while. Our lobby is yours.
Maybe you’re headed to church. Maybe you’re coming from church. Maybe Sunday mornings are hard and you just need a smiling face and a cup of coffee.
Either way, you’re welcome here.
We believe God has given Hardy’s an opportunity to do more than make great drinks. We want to serve people well, love our community well, and use what He’s given us to make a difference.
We’ve prayed about it for a while.
We feel like now is the time.
So… here we go.

We want to address something this morning. Hughes Springs is still dealing with a water issue, and because of that, we're operating with a limited menu. We've been very upfront about what we can and cannot safely serve right now. Could we have simply stayed closed? Absolutely. But from an owner's standpoint, I have a team of people who depend on Hardy's for their paycheck. As long as we can operate safely, even with limited options, I'm gonna do everything I can to give them the opportunity to work and earn their hours. We're doing things the hard way right now, taking dishes elsewhere to be washed, bringing in water and ice, adjusting constantly. But we are doing it for our customers, our community, and our team. We understand if our limited menu doesn't have what you're looking for today. We just ask that you please show our staff the same patience and kindness they're showing while working through something completely outside their control. Thank you to everyone who's been supportive and understanding.

***Just got the call that the boil notice has been lifted. If yall will give us 30 minutes, we will be opened back up.***

**Still no update on the boil notice, so we are closed for the day. Thank you to everyone that came by yesterday and this morning.**

Hughes Springs Update for Tomorrow

We’re still under a boil notice, but we’re making the best of what we have! We’ll open at 7 AM with limited options. Hot drinks and frappes will not be available.

If we’re still under the boil notice at 10 AM, we’ll close for the day. Fingers crossed we can safely get back to full service and keep serving you all day! 🤞

Hughes Springs — we have a plan for tomorrow.
We will have a delayed opening at 7.

Because of the boil notice, we’ll be operating a little differently.
We won't be able to have any hot options or frappes.

We’re heading to NTCC to prep several bottles of espresso, and we’ll be bringing in ice. We’ll be able to make a limited drink menu either canned or over ice, and we’ll also have a few breakfast items available.

As an extra precaution, we’re shutting off the water meter at the shop so no city water is used in our operation while the boil notice is in effect.

It won’t be a normal day, but we’re going to do everything we can to still take care of Hughes Springs.

This is our namesake. This is why we do what we do.
This picture was taken years ago, long before Hardy’s Coffee & Drink Co. existed.

That man standing there is Justin Hardy Ragsdale.
Nobody asked him to stop. Nobody was watching for him to do something good. He simply saw somebody who was cold, hurting, and in need — and he stopped. He literally gave him the clothes off his back.

That is what helped build the legacy behind the name Hardy’s.

There are days I’m tired. Days that turn into 16+ hour days. Days when running a business, taking care of people, solving problems, and trying to keep everything moving feels heavier than I probably let anybody see.
And then I remember why we’re doing it.

Hardy’s was never supposed to just be a place that sells coffee.

We all want it to be a place where somebody feels noticed.

Where somebody having the worst day of their life can walk through the door and be treated like they matter.

Where kindness still costs us something.
Where we remember that the person standing across the counter may be fighting a battle we know absolutely nothing about.

This picture reminds me that you don’t have to change the whole world. Sometimes you just have to stop for one person.

That is the standard.

That is the legacy.

Christ. Coffee. Community.

We are grateful for our friendships with Big A Burritos and can't wait to see what the future holds for them. Be sure to stop by and check out all they have to offer, in ore city and gilmer.

Last day for our hotbox locations is September 12th

This isn’t us getting smaller it’s us focusing on what we do best, making hot fresh burritos to order. 

We are sad not to be able to serve them anymore, but we are preparing our restaurants for the launch of our lunch coming up. Stay tuned.
