After 2 1/2 years of service, The Shay Cafe has made the difficult decision to close its doors. It has been a pleasure serving each and every one of our customers and we will miss all of you. We truly feel that with each specially crafted latte and sandwich made, friendships were formed that we will never forget and always cherish. Our last day of business will be this Saturday, April 28 and we will be open from 8am - 4pm. We hope that you'll come and say good bye and help us end The Shay Cafe's run on a high note. People have been enjoying our patio and we think that you should too. It's a perfect spot to grab lunch with a friend or enjoy a refreshing beverage in solitude. Our special today is our delicious Chicken Salad Sandwich served on wheat, rye or croissant with crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and grilled red onion for just 5.99!

Well, the sun is shining, the temperature is soaring and once again it's time to turn our attention to the iced variety of beverages. Our patio is now open, so come enjoy an Iced Irish Mint Latte, Caramel Mocha, or a Fresh Fruit Smoothie while basking in the rays and soaking up some Vitamin D. See you soon!

As I'm sitting here in the warm atmosphere of the Cafe listening to Classic Christmas songs I'm reminded of the classics here at the Shay Cafe. Like our Southwestern Turkey Wrap, Turkey Reuben and Savannah Pecan Salad and drinks like our classic Carmel Macc. or a Delicious Hot Chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream....I love our new additions and specials but lets let today be about the sandwiches and drinks that made it all happen....the Classics.

I know its last minute but today from 11-3 we will be hosting a fund raiser for Invisible Children. 10% of all proceeds will go to the cause and they will be accepting donations and selling some merchandise. Help us raise some money to keep the kids in Central Africa kids and not weapons in a terrorists war.

The Invisible Children office is holding out until we reach the $1 million mark in Frontline Fundraising. Check the blog to see the details of how you can help and possibly win a trip to northern Uganda with us this summer.

Just brewed some fresh Pirates' Brew and the scent of cinnamon, rum and pecan is borne aloft throughout the cafe as if by a Summer zephyr. Come enjoy this flavorful medium roast with a biscotti or one of our delicious muffins. Our soup today is Chicken Gumbo; a New Orleans favorite featuring chicken, rice, okra, and bell peppers in a light tomato broth. This delicious soup brings just the right amount of heat with plenty of flavor to back it up. See you soon!
